Why focus on nervous system regulation?

Our body's autonomic nervous system is designed to keep us safe and alive. It controls things like our heart rate, digestion, blood pressure, and breathing - automatically.

Hi, I'm Valerie!

I’m a Certified Breathing Coach and Facilitator, and I’ve helped many people just like you with breathwork and somatic practices for nervous system regulation. I’m on a mission to help every body improve their physical, mental, and emotional well-being with the healing power of the breath.

The techniques I teach inside the Breathwork Starter Kit are the same ones I used to get my own anxiety under control about two years ago when I was living in survival mode…anxious, stressed, completely overwhelmed and burnt out.

What is breathwork?
Breathwork is an umbrella term for many different methods and styles of breath patterns and control. It's a safe and natural tool that can influence your nervous system and improve your physical, mental, emotional well-being.
Is breathwork right for me?
People practice breathwork for a variety of reasons, so it depends on your challenges, goals, and intentions. Keep in mind that there are many different types of breathwork out there, so different types will be right for different people. The techniques you learn in the Breathwork Starter Kit are very basic and easy, and virtually anyone can benefit from them. 
Who should not practice breathwork?
You should not practice certain types of breathwork if you are pregnant, have a heart condition, spinal disorder, or a respiratory infection.
How long should I expect to spend on the Breathwork Starter Kit? 
You can get through all the contents of this program in about an hour. That being said, you can do it at your own pace - either all at once, or break it up. Once you’ve gone through the content, you’ll start the 10-Day Breathwork Challenge where you’ll practice every day for about 15 minutes. After the challenge is over I encourage you to stick with this routine, but you can spend as much time as you want with your own practice.
How do I access the content?

Yes, it is a great way for beginners to learn how to get started. I cover all the basics of breathwork and teach simple and easy techniques you can use anywhere and anytime.
Is the Breathwork Starter Kit for me if I have done breathing exercises before?
Yes, even if you have tried breathing practices before or have some breathwork experience, I think you will learn some new things and get a lot of value from the kit and the 10-day challenge. 
What if I already feel too busy and can’t imagine fitting something new in my life? 
As a business owner and mom of two active kids, I get it. Sometimes it feels like we barely have any free time to do something for ourselves. The techniques I teach in the Breathwork Starter Kit are less than 5 minutes each, and we aim to practice 3 times a day. So that’s less than 15 minutes a day. Plus, I encourage you to practice at times that work best for you (even if that means you practice in bed when you wake up or before going to sleep). You can make the time and you will feel a difference!
